Trump/Vance Victory Shows That School Choice Was On The Ballot

WASHINGTON, DC – Following the results of the 2024 election, Invest in Education Coalition, an organization advocating to empower parents to choose the best education for their children, is encouraged by the victory of President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance. The election of these school choice advocates in the White House paves the way to expand K-12 education freedom for more families in every state.

Recent polling showed that over 76 percent of voters were likely to support candidates that support school choice, making this a key issue on the ballot. Trump increased his focus on educational choice in the 2024 election recently stating, “A child’s fate should be determined by their love of education, by their parents, by so many factors. But it can’t be determined by a ZIP code, Trump said. And no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing government-run school.”

When asked recently on Fox and Friends, if he would support the proposed Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), which would provide K-12 scholarships for over one million students across America to attend schools of their parents’ choice, President-Elect Trump said, “I would sign it. Anything to do with school choice, I’ll support.”

Vice President-Elect JD Vance also supports educational choice recently stating, “I really believe in the promise of school choice because when you give parents and you give the people who care the most about these children, the control over those kids’ education, they’re gonna choose better than anybody else.”  Vice President-Elect Vance is also a co-sponsor of the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) in the U.S. Senate.

Anthony J. de Nicola, Chairman of Invest in Education Coalition, said “Parents made their voices heard at the ballot box. Having supporters of education freedom like Trump and Vance in the White House is instrumental in getting the Educational Choice for Children Act passed in Congress. Giving every child in America, regardless of their zip code, equal access to educational opportunities will strengthen our nation’s future.”
