ICYMI: SECRETARY MCMAHON AND MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION HIGHLIGHT HISTORIC SCHOOL CHOICE LEGISLATION PASSED IN “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL”

August 7, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – In case you missed it, U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon, U.S. Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) and Congresswoman Laurel Lee (R-FL-15) spoke at an education event this week in Tampa attended by school choice advocates, highlighting the permanent federal tax credit for private donations to fund K-12 scholarships. This provision, which was included in the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill”, is based on the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), authored by Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) and U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA).

This landmark federal law will help K-12 students across the country access a school or educational service of their parents’ choice. Scholarships will be funded with private donations, not federal money, and donors will receive a federal tax credit.

Here is what school choice champions are saying:
